Want to know something about the gal behind the business? You've come to the right place!
I'm Holly, the brains behind 4 Fat Cats Wax Works. I started this business on a whim after deciding that there weren't nearly enough business making tarts in the sort of earthy, resiny, woodsy scents that I love and after getting fed up with other companies' quality...or lack thereof, to be more accurate. After toying around with the idea and looking at supply prices, figuring out how to actually make the little buggers and waffling for many a day and night, I jumped in headfirst and 4 Fat Cats Wax Works was born.
Currently, I'm finishing up my Master's degree in clinical psychology (just have to finish my practicuum and I'm home free!) and getting ready to move on to my doctorate, so tart-making is more of a hobby for me than an occupation (as if I needed another one - aside from being a psychologist, I also do graphic design work for
The Ivy Keep and work as an independent contractor writing product descriptions for a company that sells toys, movies and books of an adult nature). I'm a busy girl.
I live in Illinois with my husband, parents (hey, ain't nothin' wrong with getting free rent and sticking close to the people who raised you), 3 cats (Raven and Bella are official "fat cats" while Mojo, the baby, is a scrawny little thing), 1 crazy cockatiel with a foot fetish and 2 loud-mouthed parakeets. The other remaining official 4FC "fat cat" (Scratchy) lives with my MIL along with his buddy Mr. Pickles (who happens to be fat but not officially so because this is
4 Fat Cats and the 4th spot belongs to Spooky, even though he's eating out of the giant catnip bowl in the sky).
Want to know something else? I'm afraid of sloths. Yeah, that's right, sloths...three-toed ones to be precise. True story.
